Game description
It's a race against time – one that you have to win. Because you are the good ones here.
Only if you find the old magical music instrument in time, which is hidden inside the forgotten Mauritius Dance Palace - then the city will have a chance. Because a dark group of plotters has the same goal: they want to misuse the machine to make Cologne and its people powerless.
If you find it first and play the melody, Cologne will be protected. But what if you don't? We don't want to let that happen...

What is the mysterious melody about?
Cologne is in danger!
In the underworld of Cologne broils a danger that hardly anyone notices on the street. A group of unscrupulous businessmen plots a perfidious plan to take over the city. Their goal: the whole city should be hypnotized, so that the population is powerless and controlled.
The tool for this plan: an old, almost forgotten musical machine. In the wrong hands it becomes a weapon – in the right hands it can protect the city. It still stands in an old dance hall, in the possession of an uber-musician named Dieter Behrenkamp.
When Dieter hears that his hometown is in danger, it is clear: The good ones must be the first toactivate the machine. The magical music machine must be put into operation – and the mysterious melody must defeat the vile forces.
The mysterious melody against the evil
But the device is old and complicated to operate. Therefore Dieter seeks allies, whom he can trust – people who love Cologne, have courage and are clever enough to not leave anything to chance. The instrument is too powerful and must not fall into the wrong hands.
Can you save the city in time? Only you stand between Cologne and chaos!
Your Mission
Timing is half the battle: you come to Dieter's music room and await his instructions. And then it's off – find the old instrument, activate it and start the mysterious melody.

So you know what to expect
All our Escape Rooms revolve around you: because you are visiting us, ultimately, to have fun. Your task is to solve our numerous exciting puzzles. Since this room is a remake of an existing room, the gameplay is particularly refined and promises a great flow. The model „Magical Music Machine“ is actually twice TERPECA-nominated – a strong and also unusual performance for such a puzzle-loving Escape Room.
Information for multiple players
If you've read this far, you're preparing – here are the points that are important to us:
- No actors – neither in the room nor at the reception. Come as you are.
- Not playable in pairs. Please don't book in pairs „on a good luck“ – we want the game to work for you.
- Hints are given by the game master after assessing the situation – not on a button press.
- No horror, no jumpscares, no being locked in.
The right expectation is essential for gameplay – we know this from our own experience. We look forward to your visit!
Game atmosphere
„The mysterious melody“ is the Spybrain room with the most elaborate sets: Light, sound, furniture and technology are tuned to each other. Nevertheless, it is still a game: you can touch, participate, experiment. And yet it is an Escape Room: the sets are there to carry the game, not the other way around.
